US Proposal to Iran Reportedly Includes Major Financial Concessions

(MENAFN) A US journalist has claimed that a new American proposal presented to Iran includes significant financial and economic concessions as part of efforts to end the war, according to reports.

ABC correspondent Alex Marquardt said on social media platform X and on his personal website that the proposed framework is based on a previous 14-point plan and would unfold in multiple stages.

According to his claims, the initial agreement would serve as a Memorandum of Understanding designed to launch negotiations toward a final settlement, while postponing the most contentious issues.

The reported proposal includes provisions such as a dedicated economic fund for damages, waivers allowing Iranian oil sales, a gradual unfreezing of Iranian assets, and sanctions relief. It also reportedly does not establish firm commitments on nuclear enrichment at this stage.

Under the suggested framework, both sides would immediately halt military operations and refrain from issuing further threats of force. The arrangement is also said to extend to other regional fronts, including Lebanon.

The memorandum would reportedly be signed in Islamabad and act as a starting point for broader negotiations aimed at formally ending the conflict.
