Israel reports compensation claims for damage due to Iran’s attacks

(MENAFN) Israeli officials have reported receiving close to 39,000 compensation claims for property damage caused by Iranian missile attacks, according to reports released Tuesday.

As stated by reports, the Compensation Fund managed by the Israeli Tax Authority recorded around 38,700 damage claims since hostilities with Iran began on June 13. These filings include 30,809 claims related to building damage, 3,713 for vehicle destruction, and 4,085 concerning losses to equipment and miscellaneous belongings.

"There are estimates that thousands of other buildings have been damaged, but no compensation claims have been filed for them yet,” the reports added.

Further breakdowns show that Tel Aviv, located in central Israel, accounted for over 24,932 of the total claims. The southern city of Ashkelon followed with approximately 10,793 claims, according to additional local sources.

Authorities have not yet issued an official estimate of the total financial cost that will be required to fulfill these compensation requests.

The conflict was triggered when Israel began airstrikes on Iranian territory on June 13, targeting key military and nuclear facilities amid accusations that Iran was close to developing a nuclear weapon—an assertion Iran strongly rejected.

In retaliation, Iran responded with widespread missile and drone assaults on multiple Israeli cities. The United States later became involved by striking three Iranian nuclear sites on Sunday.

After nearly two weeks of intense fighting between the longtime rivals, US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran late Monday, bringing the conflict to a halt.
