N. Korea FM to undertake trips to Russia, Belarus
Pyongyang has not provided specific information regarding the timing or itinerary of Choe’s upcoming trips. She previously visited Moscow last November, during which she met with President Vladimir Putin.
In recent years, North Korea and Russia have strengthened their alliance, highlighted by the signing of a mutual defense agreement last year. This treaty commits both nations to provide military assistance to each other if attacked by a third party.
Reports indicate that thousands of North Korean troops were stationed in Russia last year amid the conflict in Ukraine, with numerous casualties reported.
Additionally, last month, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko during China’s military parade in Beijing. Kim also extended an invitation to Lukashenko to visit North Korea.
