Trump says he has ordered to start testing nuclear weapons
"Because of other countries testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis. That process will begin immediately," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, using his administration’s rebranded title for the department.
Trump emphasized that the United States possesses "more Nuclear Weapons than any other country," crediting this to initiatives carried out during his first term, which included "a complete update and renovation of existing weapons."
He cautioned, however, that rival nations are making rapid advancements in their nuclear programs. "Because of the tremendous destructive power, I HATED to do it, but had no choice!
Russia is second, and China is a distant third, but will be even within 5 years," he said.
