Unknown Projectile Strikes Tanker Near Fujairah, UAE—UKMTO
The UK Office of Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported the incident occurred 23 nautical miles east of Fujairah.
"A tanker has reported being struck by an unknown projectile whilst at anchor," the agency stated in its advisory.
Officials noted that the strike caused only slight damage, with no injuries to crew members and no reported environmental impact. "No injuries to crew. No environmental impact reported," it said, adding that an investigation is ongoing.
The incident comes amid escalating conflict in the Middle East, following a major offensive by the United States and Israel against Iran on Feb. 28, which has resulted in over 1,300 deaths, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, as stated by reports.
Iran has responded with drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US military forces, intensifying regional tensions.
