Keeping up with small business news from Australia
Provided by AGPA local police official told a news agency over the phone on Tuesday that the attacker attempted to ram an explosives-laden vehicle into a military installation near Azam Warsak Bazaar late on Monday.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to brief the media, said security personnel engaged the vehicle before it reached its intended target, causing it to detonate at a distance.
The explosion damaged nearby structures, resulting in the death of one civilian. Around 12 others were injured and taken to a hospital in Wana for treatment, according to police.
Pakistan has experienced a rise in militant attacks in recent years, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces. Authorities in Islamabad have linked these incidents to the Afghanistan-based Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), an allegation that Kabul has repeatedly denied.
