Pakistan’s Sharif to Visit China for High-Level Talks

(MENAFN) Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to undertake a state visit to China from May 23 to 26, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced on Wednesday, according to reports.

Dar, who also serves as deputy prime minister, said he will accompany Sharif during the trip.

The Pakistani leader is expected to hold high-level discussions with Chinese officials, including President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang.

During the visit, Sharif is also set to participate in business-to-business meetings and events marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

Dar noted that the agenda will also include sessions of key bilateral frameworks, saying, “We would also have meetings of two very important mechanisms -- one, the Pakistan-China political forum, and two, the CPEC joint consultative mechanism,” and added that a large multi-party parliamentary delegation from Pakistan will take part in several meetings in Beijing.
